Check this page for updates on our Covid-related requirements

As much as we’re looking forward to being together in Sitges, Barcelona in March, we know that some things are more important. Your health and well-being, for instance. And ours too!

So, we’re planning this event with health and safety in mind and will adhere to best practices and promote behaviors that can reduce transmission of the virus.

JMP has implemented Covid-related rules adapted from the World Health Organization (WHO), the Spain Ministry of Health, and other local authorities. They are as follows:

  • If you are fully vaccinated* you are welcome to register and attend this event. However, please be prepared to show your vaccination card(s) if asked.

  • For peace of mind, we will have plenty of KF94 masks available – we think these are the most comfortable.

  • Attendees are asked to be respectful of fellow data explorers by maintaining personal space whenever possible, washing hands frequently and thoroughly, and leaving at the first sign of illness.

  • To minimize the number of people, non-registered guests are not permitted at any portion of the in-person segments of Discovery Summit this year.

  • Rapid Covid-19 tests will be available free of charge to any attendees who would like to test themselves.

  • Each day, before attending the sessions, we recommend that attendees complete a self-screening. Guests who answer 'Yes' to any of the questions below are kindly asked not to join the remainder of the in-person components of the conference.

    • Do you have a fever, chills, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, new cough, or new loss of taste or smell?
    • Have you had close contact (within six feet for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period) in the last 14 days with someone diagnosed with Covid-19, or has a health department or health care provider contacted you and advised you to isolate or quarantine at this time?
    • Did you receive a positive result on a Covid-19 rapid or PCR test?
    • Have you been diagnosed with Covid-19 in the last 10 days?

Please note that registrants who cannot attend Discovery Summit Europe in-person because of Covid-19-related concerns may request a full refund at any time before the conclusion of the conference.

All attendees are expected to abide by these rules. If you are unable or unwilling to do so, please do not attend. We will continue to monitor guidance from WHO and the Spain Ministry of Health and may choose to adapt our protocol at any time in response to any changes triggered by Covid-19.

We appreciate your help in making Discovery Summit a safe place to learn and grow!

*What does fully vaccinated mean?

A person is considered fully vaccinated 14 days after receiving either of the following:

  • The second dose in a two-dose series such as the Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Sanofi-GSK, Novavax or Valneva vaccines.

  • A single-dose vaccine such as Johnson & Johnson's Janssen vaccine or the HIPRA Human Health vaccine.

This guidance applies to Covid-19 vaccines authorized for emergency use by WHO or approved for full use by the FDA on or before January 25, 2022. The full list of emergency use and authorized vaccines can be found on this FDA web page
