André Augé
Senior Data Scientist, Rio Tinto, Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne, France
André Augé holds an M.Sc degree in chemical engineering from Chimie Paris Tech and also has degrees in statistics and data science. He has been working in aluminium industry for 35 years in R&D and on industrial sites as a process engineer and department manager. He is now in charge of statistical studies and follow-up of the Rio Tinto aluminium smelters. Augé also supports R&D engineers in their use of statistics and JMP; he has led the French JMP users group since 2017. He uses JMP Pro on a daily basis to overcome challenges and meet his objectives.

Lene Bjørg Cesar
Senior Manager, Novozymes A/S, Bagsværd, Denmark
Lene Bjørg Cesar is Science Manager at Novozymes in Bagsvaerd, Denmark. She holds a master’s degree in applied statistics from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). I have been at Novozymes since 2004 and I am part of a digitalization team. She particularly enjoys the part of her job that involves understanding, communicating and bridging the intersection of wet lab work, DOE and applied statistics. Cesar is responsible for statistical workshops for scientists and technicians that focus on customized subject-matter solutions in terms of DOEs and statistical approaches; she uses JMP for this training. She has also headed up projects creating complex JMP add-ins that spread the use of advanced statistics to the many JMP users at Novozymes. In general, Cesar supports colleagues in their use of JMP to help them gain better insights to their applications.

Ian Cox
Director of Pre-Sales Support, JMP, Marlow, United Kingdom
Ian Cox, PhD, leads pre-sales support for JMP. Previously, he was the JMP Marketing Manager in Europe. He has worked for Digital and Motorola, was a Six Sigma Black Belt and also worked with Motorola University. Before joining SAS, he worked for BBN Software Solutions Ltd. and consulted with many companies on data analysis, process control and experimental design. Cox is part of the SPIE organizing committee for process control and referees related papers for the IEEE Transactions on Semiconductor Manufacturing. He is the associate editor of Applied Stochastic Models in Business and Industry (Wiley Online) and has been a Visiting Fellow at Cranfield University. Cox is a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society in the UK and a member of its Committee of the Statistical Computing Section. He has a PhD in theoretical physics.

Frank Deruyck
Docent & Principal Investigator, HOGENT University of Applied Sciences
Frank Deruyck is Six Sigma Black Belt with more than 20 years experience in industry-leading OPEX projects. He now teaches TQM and chemometrics. He is member of a Centre of Applied Data Science team and principal investigator at the Ghent University Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Pharmaceutical Engineering & Manufacturing.

Pilar Gomez Jimenez
Principal Scientist, Johnson Matthey
Pilar Gomez-Jimenez works as a principal scientist in the speciality chemical company Johnson Matthey. She has a master’s degree and a PhD in chemical engineering, and she has been working in research and development of catalysts and materials for 17 years. She is enthusiastic about the application of DOE in this process and of the DOE mindset. She advocates that every scientist and engineer can apply DOE and advanced data analytics thanks to JMP, given that a practical understanding of the tools is the only requirement (which can be acquired with support and practice). Her passion for DOE has led her to work closely with JMP representatives to extend the use of DOE and advanced data analytics by training and supporting users as they develop methods within Johnson Matthey.

Sebastian Hoffmeister
Manager Biostatistics, Roche Diagnostics, München, Germany
Sebastian Hoffmeister has been with Roche Diagnostics in Munich since 2017 and is currently the Group Leader in Biostatistics. He studied statistics at the Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich and was a Statistics Trainer at Statcon for eight years before joining Roche.
-
Maria Lanzerath
Statistician, W. L. Gore & Associates
Maria Lanzerath leads a global team of statisticians at W.L. Gore, working with scientists and engineers to ensure that statistics is embedded throughout the manufacturing process. She has been an industrial statistician with the company since 1997, providing expertise in designed experiments, statistical process control and data-driven decision making. Lanzerath led the development of a companywide DOE training class for hundreds of engineers and scientists in the US, Germany, Japan and China. Before joining Gore, Lanzerath studied statistics at the Ludwigs-Maximilians University in Munich and worked for three years as a data manager and SAS programmer for a Japanese pharmaceutical company.

Zhiwu Liang
Principal Statistician, Procter & Gamble, Strombeek-Bever, Belgium
Zhiwu Liang is a Principal Statistician at Procter & Gamble’s Innovation Center in Brussels. He has been working at P&G for 21 years. His focus is conjoint analysis and MaxDiff methods for consumer tests, advanced design of experiments for process and formulation analysis, SEM and PLS path models for driver analysis, and prediction models for consumer preference and image analysis. He got his PhD in mathematical demography at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands in 2000 and a master’s degree in statistics at Peking University in China in 1991.

Dr. Somaieh Mohammadi
Staff Scientist, Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies, Billingham, United Kingdom
Somaieh Mohammadi received her PhD in chemical engineering from Newcastle University and has one year of post-doctoral research experience working in the Newcastle Process Intensification group. She joined Fujifilm in 2015 as a Process Statistician in Process Design and has been part of Data Science since 2019. Mohammadi develops and applies computational tools and applications to support process characterisation and optimisation in early/late stage development. She supports functions in FDBK and other FDB locations in design of experiments, data analysis as well as data visualisation. Mohammadi is also interested in the application of chemical engineering principles in development and manufacturing. She uses a variety of modelling and simulation tools and techniques related to fluid flows such as computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to help solve problems and develop new approaches to scaling.
